Indie band The Killers was formed in 2002 in Las Vegas by four members - Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards), Dave Koenig (guitar, vocals), Mark Stormer (bass) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums). The guys took their name from the New Order video “Crystal” - it was written on the drums of a non-existent ensemble that appeared in the video. It was not the first variant of their band's name - at first they supposed to be called The Genius Sex Poets, but, fortunately for everyone, they gave up this idea.
